Managing Director, Head of Consumer Banking and Wealth Management for the California Division, JPMorgan Chase Bank

 
Barry G. Simmons is a Managing Director – Divisional Director for Consumer Banking & Wealth Management for JPMorgan Chase Bank. He currently leads a team of over 10,000 people across 1,000 branches in California.

Prior to that Simmons joined JPMorgan Chase Bank in 2016 as the Head of Card Customer Service, responsible for leading a team of 6,000 people across the United States and International territories.

Before joining JPMorgan Chase Bank, Simmons was the Wealth Management Executive for Enterprise Business and Community Engagement responsible for driving integration efforts for US Trust and Merrill Lynch with all lines of business across Bank of America. In addition, he served as an Executive Sponsor for the Black Professional Group, (BPG).

During his time in Wealth Management, Simmons was also the Associate Market Executive for the New York Metro Division with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. He was responsible for leading key business initiatives across the division and the Fifth Avenue market office.

Simmons previously served as the West Region Executive for Retail Banking & Distribution for Bank of America where he lead over 15,000 associates in 1,500 Banking Centers in WA, ID, OR, CA, AZ and NV. Prior to that, he served as the Region Executive for Greater Los Angeles in Consumer & Small Business Banking.

Simmons joined Bank of America in 2006 as the Southeast Region Card Services Contact Center Servicing Executive, after beginning his career at MBNA in 1996. In 2007 he became the Loss Prevention Executive for Bank of America Card Services, where he was responsible for Customer Level Solutions, Business Lending Loss Prevention, as well as US Consumer Card Loss Prevention.

Simmons graduated from the University of Virginia where he majored in Communications and has his MBA in finance from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill – Kenan-Flagler Business School. He also serves as a board member of One Hundred Black Men, INC. of New York.
